A programme built around you
Every plan starts from your capacity and training history, so nothing is generic or lifted off a template.
One-to-one coaching built around the over-40 body, in four private UNTIL clubs across London.
One-to-one personal training in Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street, or Canary Wharf, London, with every programme built around where you start and the outcome you actually want.
The short answer
1-2-1 personal training is one-to-one coaching that brings strength, mobility, conditioning, and lifestyle guidance into a single plan, applied in real time across UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street, and Canary Wharf by a coach with 18+ years behind people over 40. It is more than supervised exercise: every programme is built around your starting capacity and training history, and every session starts from where you are today rather than a template.
Most clients are between 40 and 65, so recovery, joint history, and staying capable for decades shape the programme from the first session. That usually means more strength and mobility work, sensible conditioning, and recovery built in rather than assumed. Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes, with form, breathing, and effort coached within every set, and progression is earned rather than pushed. You can choose the UNTIL site that fits your commute and switch between them as your schedule changes.
Your first session is free, and it is a genuine assessment. We talk through your training history and goals, take a brief practical look at how you move and where your strength sits, and you leave knowing whether the programme fits. If it does, we go from there.
Neil has been my PT since 2014. He is able to train you effectively at any age or ability (in my case, in my late 60s) and adapts your regime to get the very best out of you. My fitness wouldn't be where it is without Neil — an outstanding trainer who can really transform your sense of wellbeing.

Neil was brilliant to train with, genuinely knows his stuff and always brought real positive energy to every session. He's reliable without fail, and meticulous in how he builds towards your fitness goals, nothing felt generic or phoned in. On top of that he's great fun to be around, which makes the hard sessions actually enjoyable. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Neil is fantastic! He got me doing things in the gym I did not think was possible. For someone that hated squats at the start, I now embrace them. He is a friendly face with good banter and helps you hit your goals. An hour session flies by and you always feel good after a session. Thanks Neil for all your support and encouragement! You rock!

One-to-one coaching is the most direct way to train around your history and your goals. This is ideal for you if you:
Assessment-led coaching designed around your body, your history and your week.
Every plan starts from your capacity and training history, so nothing is generic or lifted off a template.
Trained in your 40s, 50s and 60s with recovery and joint history designed into the plan from the first session.
Coached by a trainer with 18+ years behind people over 40 and a background in international athletics.
Choose UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street or Canary Wharf, and switch between them as your week changes.
Form, breathing and effort are corrected within every set, so each rep earns its place and progress is earned, not pushed.
The first session is a genuine assessment, so you can decide we fit before committing to anything.
Neil coaches at four private UNTIL members' clubs in central London. UNTIL Soho is the primary address; sessions also run at UNTIL Marylebone, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf, so you can train at whichever club fits your day and switch between them as your schedule changes.
Monday-Friday: 06:00 to 21:00
Saturday: 08:00 to 14:00
UNTIL Soho (Tottenham Court Road station): 2 minute walk
UNTIL Marylebone (Bond Street and Marble Arch): 3 minute walk
UNTIL Liverpool Street (Liverpool Street station): 2 minute walk
UNTIL Canary Wharf (Canary Wharf station): 3 minute walk
Everything starts with an honest look at where you are today. From there Neil builds a plan around your body and your week, coaches it in person, and progresses it only as your capacity earns it.
Your first session is free and carries no obligation. We talk through your training history, goals and any injuries, then take a practical look at how you move and where your strength sits.
We build a programme around your starting capacity and the time you can realistically commit. For an over-40 body that usually means more strength and mobility work, sensible conditioning and recovery built in.
Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes: a brief warm-up and mobility, the main strength or conditioning work, then any accessory work the day calls for. Form and effort are coached within every set.
We review at agreed intervals and the programme adapts. Progression is earned, not pushed, so change is sustainable across years rather than a peak that drops the moment a block ends.
Sessions run in UNTIL's private members' clubs across London: calm, fully equipped strength floors with everything a serious session needs and none of the crowd.

FAQ
No. The first session is free precisely so you can come as you are. Whether you have not trained for years or are returning after an injury, we measure where you are today and build a programme that matches your current capacity. The aim is to meet you, not benchmark you against an idealised standard.
Recovery slows, joints carry more accumulated history, and metabolism shifts. The principle does not change: progressive overload still drives adaptation, but the dose, recovery, and exercise selection do. Most over-40 clients benefit from more strength and mobility work, less high-intensity volume, and longer recovery between heavy sessions than they did at thirty.
Across four private members' gyms: UNTIL Soho (111 Charing Cross Road), UNTIL Marylebone (1 Orchard Street), UNTIL Liverpool Street (280 Bishops Square), and UNTIL Canary Wharf (30 South Colonnade). All have full equipment, showers, and changing facilities. You can choose the site that fits your work and commute, and switch between them as your schedule changes.
Sessions run between 45 and 60 minutes. We start with a brief warm-up and mobility, follow with the main strength or conditioning work, and finish with any accessory or recovery work the day calls for. Form, breathing, and effort are coached in real time, and you leave with a clear sense of progress.
It depends on your goals, your recovery, and the time you can realistically commit. For most over-40 clients, two well-structured sessions a week drive steady progress while leaving room to recover. We agree a frequency at the assessment that fits your life, and adjust it as your capacity builds rather than fixing it in advance.
