Group personal training session at UNTIL Soho

The short answer

What group personal training is

Group personal training is small-group coaching capped at two people at UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, or Liverpool Street, where each of you follows your own programme, adjusted live, and gets most of the individual attention of a 1-2-1 at a lower per-person cost. The cap is deliberate: you train as a pair with a partner, friend, or colleague, sharing equipment, accountability, and pacing, while the loads, progressions, and exercise selection stay individual to each of you.

The same over-40 thinking applies. Programmes are built around each person's starting capacity and training history, with recovery and joint history factored in, so a couple or a mixed-ability pair of friends can train together without anyone being under-loaded or pushed too hard. Sessions usually run weekly or fortnightly, with form and effort coached in real time for both of you and each person's progress reviewed at agreed intervals.

The first session is free, so you can both see whether the two-person format and the coaching fit the way you want to train before committing. Bring your training partner, and you each leave with a clear sense of whether it works.

Neil has been my PT since 2014. He is able to train you effectively at any age or ability (in my case, in my late 60s) and adapts your regime to get the very best out of you. My fitness wouldn't be where it is without Neil — an outstanding trainer who can really transform your sense of wellbeing.

I've been training with Neil (NMG) for several years now — professional and very knowledgeable, not only in fitness but the wider package: lifestyle, diet and healthy living. He understands the training needs of my age group and adapts his programme accordingly. You're not just a number to him.

I have trained with Neil for a couple of years. He has done an excellent job helping me improve my strength and stamina levels while motivating me to maintain my fitness training over the long term. He is a good listener and tailors sessions to an individual’s needs.

Neil was brilliant to train with, genuinely knows his stuff and always brought real positive energy to every session. He's reliable without fail, and meticulous in how he builds towards your fitness goals, nothing felt generic or phoned in. On top of that he's great fun to be around, which makes the hard sessions actually enjoyable. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Was in need of a routine of working out in order to get back into shape and I found the perfect set up, friendly, encouraging and great at helping me achieve my goals. Would highly recommend NMG as the place to go for motivating you into getting fit and feeling good about yourself.

Neil is fantastic! He got me doing things in the gym I did not think was possible. For someone that hated squats at the start, I now embrace them. He is a friendly face with good banter and helps you hit your goals. An hour session flies by and you always feel good after a session. Thanks Neil for all your support and encouragement! You rock!

Group training
FAQs

How many people can train in a group session?

Sessions are limited to two people maximum, sharing a single coach. The cap is deliberate: with two, each person still gets most of the individual attention of a 1-2-1 while sharing the energy and the cost. Most pairs are a couple, two friends, or two colleagues who want the accountability of training together on their own individual programmes.

Do we all do the same workout?

No. Each of you follows your own programme built around your capacity and goals, adjusted live during the session. The session runs as a pair: sharing equipment, pacing, and accountability, but the loads, progressions, and exercise selection are individual. That is what lets a mixed-ability pair train together without anyone being held back or pushed too hard.

Is group training cheaper than 1-2-1?

Group sessions keep the per-person cost lower than one-to-one because the coach's time is shared between two people, while each of you still gets most of the individual attention of a 1-2-1. Exact pricing is confirmed on enquiry, since it depends on how often you train. The first session is free for both of you.

Can a couple or friends of different fitness levels train together?

Yes. Because each of you follows your own programme adjusted live, a couple or two friends with different starting points, injury histories, or goals can train in the same session. One person can be building back after a long gap while the other progresses heavier lifts: the format is designed around exactly that mix.

Where and how often do group sessions run?

Group sessions run at UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, or Liverpool Street: all private members' gyms with full equipment and changing facilities. Most pairs book weekly or fortnightly, at a regular slot that suits you both. We agree the cadence at the free first session and can adjust it as schedules and progress change.
