Performance-led programming
Structured coaching from a trainer with an international athletics background, built toward a clear physical standard.
Performance-led strength, power and resilience, programmed for the over-40 body.
Structured strength and conditioning for men and women over 40: progressive loading, power, and resilience programmed around your body, at UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street, or Canary Wharf.
The short answer
Strength and conditioning is performance-led coaching that builds strength, power, and physical resilience in one deliberately structured programme, coached by a trainer who represented Ireland in international athletics and has worked with the over-40 body for 18+ years. It is for clients who want more than general fitness, and it never loses sight of the recovery, joints, and history the over-40 body carries.
Every block is built around your assessment, not a template. We earn technique and tolerance first, then develop strength and power, and conditioning is added at a level that builds capacity rather than draining it. Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes at UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street, or Canary Wharf, with technique and effort coached in real time and load added only as your body earns it.
The first session is free and assessment-led, so we find your real starting point before any loading begins. Whether you are an experienced lifter or returning to structured training after years away, the structure adapts to you, not the other way around. The aim is durable strength and conditioning you keep, not a short-lived peak.
Neil has been my PT since 2014. He is able to train you effectively at any age or ability (in my case, in my late 60s) and adapts your regime to get the very best out of you. My fitness wouldn't be where it is without Neil — an outstanding trainer who can really transform your sense of wellbeing.

Neil was brilliant to train with, genuinely knows his stuff and always brought real positive energy to every session. He's reliable without fail, and meticulous in how he builds towards your fitness goals, nothing felt generic or phoned in. On top of that he's great fun to be around, which makes the hard sessions actually enjoyable. Couldn't recommend him more highly.

Neil is fantastic! He got me doing things in the gym I did not think was possible. For someone that hated squats at the start, I now embrace them. He is a friendly face with good banter and helps you hit your goals. An hour session flies by and you always feel good after a session. Thanks Neil for all your support and encouragement! You rock!

Strength and conditioning is for people who want more than general fitness, programmed for the over-40 body. This is ideal for you if you:
Progressive strength, power and conditioning in one deliberately structured block.
Structured coaching from a trainer with an international athletics background, built toward a clear physical standard.
Progressive loading, power and resilience developed together in one deliberately structured plan, not chased in isolation.
The phases, dose and recovery are matched to how you actually adapt, not borrowed from a younger training plan.
Progressive blocks build your work capacity first, so intensity is added only once your body can hold it.
Coached at UNTIL Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street or Canary Wharf, with full equipment and changing facilities.
An assessment-led first session sets your real baseline before any loading begins.
Neil coaches at four private UNTIL members' clubs in central London. UNTIL Soho is the primary address; sessions also run at UNTIL Marylebone, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf, so you can train at whichever club fits your day and switch between them as your schedule changes.
Monday-Friday: 06:00 to 21:00
Saturday: 08:00 to 14:00
UNTIL Soho (Tottenham Court Road station): 2 minute walk
UNTIL Marylebone (Bond Street and Marble Arch): 3 minute walk
UNTIL Liverpool Street (Liverpool Street station): 2 minute walk
UNTIL Canary Wharf (Canary Wharf station): 3 minute walk
Every block starts from a measured baseline, never a template. Neil earns technique and tolerance first, then develops strength, power and conditioning, and loads only what your body has earned.
Your first session is free and assessment-led. We talk through your training history, performance goals and any constraints, then look practically at movement quality and current strength.
Neil builds a structured programme around your starting capacity: technique and tolerance first, then progressive strength and power, with conditioning added at a level that builds capacity without draining recovery.
Sessions run 45 to 60 minutes, with technique and effort coached in real time. Load is added only as your body earns it, so the work stays honest under the bar.
We review at agreed intervals and progress the block as your capacity builds. The aim is durable strength and conditioning you keep, not a short-lived peak that fades.
Sessions run in UNTIL's private members' clubs across London: calm, fully equipped strength floors with everything a serious session needs and none of the crowd.

FAQ
Strength and conditioning is more deliberately structured around performance: progressive strength, power, and resilience programmed in phases toward a clear physical standard. Regular personal training is broader and goal-led. Many clients blend the two; the free first session is where we decide which emphasis fits your goals and starting point best.
Yes, when it is programmed for the over-40 body. The phases, dose, and recovery are matched to how you actually adapt and recover, not borrowed from a younger athlete's plan. Done this way, structured strength and conditioning is one of the most effective ways to stay powerful, capable, and resilient.
Not at all. While the methodology comes from a performance background, the programme is built around your current capacity. Whether you are an experienced lifter or returning to structured training after years away, we start from your assessment and progress from there: the structure adapts to you, not the other way around.
