"Neil has been my PT since 2014. He is able to train you effectively at any age or ability (in my case, in my late 60s) and adapts your regime to get the very best out of you. My fitness wouldn't be where it is without Neil — an outstanding trainer who can really transform your sense of wellbeing."

"I've been training with Neil (NMG) for several years now — professional and very knowledgeable, not only in fitness but the wider package: lifestyle, diet and healthy living. He understands the training needs of my age group and adapts his programme accordingly. You're not just a number to him."

"I have trained with Neil for a couple of years. He has done an excellent job helping me improve my strength and stamina levels while motivating me to maintain my fitness training over the long term. He is a good listener and tailors sessions to an individual’s needs."

"Neil was brilliant to train with, genuinely knows his stuff and always brought real positive energy to every session. He's reliable without fail, and meticulous in how he builds towards your fitness goals, nothing felt generic or phoned in. On top of that he's great fun to be around, which makes the hard sessions actually enjoyable. Couldn't recommend him more highly."

"Was in need of a routine of working out in order to get back into shape and I found the perfect set up, friendly, encouraging and great at helping me achieve my goals. Would highly recommend NMG as the place to go for motivating you into getting fit and feeling good about yourself."

"Neil is fantastic! He got me doing things in the gym I did not think was possible. For someone that hated squats at the start, I now embrace them. He is a friendly face with good banter and helps you hit your goals. An hour session flies by and you always feel good after a session. Thanks Neil for all your support and encouragement! You rock!"

"One of the best in the game hands down!"

18+ years of coaching,
one consistent standard

I have been coaching personal training for 18+ years, after representing Ireland internationally as a high jumper earlier in my career. In that time I have coached around 300 clients, many of whom have trained with me for 15 years or longer. The transition from competing to coaching was deliberate: I wanted to bring the same standard of preparation and progression that high-level athletics demands into the way my clients train, day to day.

Most of the men and women I work with are between 40 and 65: the group I've built the practice around. Training in your 40s and 50s isn't training in your 20s: recovery is slower, joints carry more history, and the goal is strength that lasts decades, not a peak in one season. So the programming is patient: we earn progress and keep it, rather than chase a number you can't hold.

I coach across four UNTIL gyms: Soho, Marylebone, Liverpool Street and Canary Wharf: the same sites you'll train at as a 1-2-1 or group client. Online clients get the same plan, adapted to the equipment they have. The first session is free; if we're a fit, we go from there.

Your journey,
step by step

Free Session

Book your first session at no cost. We assess where you are, talk through what you want to achieve, and you leave with a clear sense of whether the programme is a fit. No commitment beyond the assessment.

Plan

Based on the assessment we agree the right service: 1-2-1, group, or online, and build a programme around your starting capacity, your goals, and the time you can realistically commit each week. Nothing generic.

Progress

Sessions run, the programme adapts, and we review at agreed intervals. The aim is sustainable change you can hold across years, not a peak that drops the moment the block ends. Progression is earned, not pushed.

Common
questions

How are over-40 fitness needs different from younger trainees?

Recovery slows, joints carry more accumulated history, and metabolism shifts. The principle does not change: progressive overload still drives adaptation, but the dose, recovery, and exercise selection do. Most over-40 clients benefit from more strength and mobility work, less high-intensity volume, and longer recovery between heavy sessions than they did at thirty.

Do I need to be fit before I start?

No. The first session is free precisely so you can come as you are. Whether you have not trained for years or are returning after an injury, we measure where you are today and build a programme that matches your current capacity. The aim is to meet you, not benchmark you against an idealised standard.

What happens in a typical session?

Sessions run between 45 and 60 minutes. We start with a brief warm-up and mobility, follow with the main strength or conditioning work, and finish with any accessory or recovery work the day calls for. Form, breathing, and effort are coached in real time. You leave with a clear sense of progress.

Where do you train clients?

Across four UNTIL sites: Soho (111 Charing Cross Road), Marylebone (1 Orchard Street), Liverpool Street (280 Bishops Square), and Canary Wharf (30 South Colonnade). All are private members' gyms with full equipment, showers, and changing facilities. Online clients train wherever they have access to equipment and receive the same programme structure adapted to that kit.

How is the first session structured?

The first session is a no-cost, no-obligation assessment. We discuss your training history, current goals, and any injuries or constraints, then run a brief practical assessment of movement quality and strength. You leave with a clear sense of whether the programme is a fit and what next steps would look like.
